The Clay Effect
The Clay Effect is the joyful creation of Mel Gras, a sculptor and ceramcist based in Sydney NSW. Mel's works focus on sustainable themes and the interaction of the human body with the natural world.
All pieces created are made peacefully and joyfully by hand, inspired by our love of nature and creatures great and small.
Our pieces are made by sustainable practices, processes, using locally sourced clays and preferred local matierals. All finishes, from slip to glaze, are handmade in The Clay Effect studio.
We treat our make waste with great care, to ensure all left over clay, water, materials, and finishes, are recycled and reused.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, on the land in which we operate, these are the Wallumettagal people of the Dharug nation. We extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia who enrich our lives with culture and history.
