Functional decor are decorative items for the home that can also serve a purpose. A few examples include vases, fruit bowls, book ends, trinket dishes, trays, storage containers, and planters... anything that creates a cosy moment in your home! Over 2 sessions, you can choose from a selection of ideas and make something special for your home. Session one is focused on making your clay object(s), using a range of hand building techniques and preparing for a bisque firing. Session two, you will clean and decorate your jug and prepare for a glaze firing. You will be able to pick up your objects 2-3 weeks after Session two. Mel's studio is a cosy and relaxing setting located on 78 Carlingford Road Epping, with free parking off the main road on Midson Road. This course is right for you if you have : - no experience with clay and making - some experience and wanting a refresher - a desire to learn through making a piece - an interest in learning hand building techniques and working with clay This class will provide access to : - step by step support - practice through making - clay and materials required - tools and templates as required $140 Payment Includes : - 2 x 2hr sessions - focused tuition on specific hand building techniques   - completed pieces (maximum 4) are yours to keep  - The Clay Effect coloured slips and glazes suitable for your pieces - one bisque and one glaze firing Not Included : - General kiln firing services, Bisque and Glaze mid-fire - The Clay Effect finishes (slips to glazes) - Personal tool kit set up
